LAST FRIDAY THE PORTLAND GIRLS SOCCER TEAM OPENED THE SEASON WITH A 1-0 DOUBLE OVERTIME WIN OVER DEERING. TONIGHT THE BULLDOGS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER WIN AGAINST CHEVERUS. BOTH TEAMS HAD CHANCES IN THE FIRST HALF….CHEVERUS WITH A KICK INTO THE BOX AND PORTLAND GOALIE CAROLINE LERCH WILL MAKE THE SAVE. THEN THE OTHER WAY, THE BULLDOGS WITH A CHANCE BUT STAGS GOALIE NEVE CAWLEY WILL PUNCH THE BALL AWAY. IT WAS SCORELESS INTO THE SECOND HALF, THEN ELIZABETH LITTEL WILL BREAK IN FOR THE BULLDOGS AND SNEAKS IT IN THE FAR POST. PORTLAND HOLDS ON FROM THERE FOR THE 1-0 WIN. LUCIE BEAULIEU SCORED ALL FOUR GOALS FOR SOUTH SOUTH PORTLAND. IN WINDHAM THE EAGLES WELCOMED GORHAM TO TOWN. EARLY IN THE THIRD QUARTER, SYDNEY CONNOLLY PASSES OVER TO SOPHIA GAGNE WHO SCORES FOR GORHAM AND THE GAME WAS TIED AT ONE.
