Maine CDC releases updated coronavirus case data by ZIP code

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released updated data on coronavirus cases by ZIP code in the state.By scrolling over individual ZIP codes, one can find the number of confirmed cases in that area as well as the population.For privacy reasons, areas with 50 people or less have been excluded, as well as areas where the total count is so low it could reveal the identity of a case.The Maine CDC first released the data last week and updated it on Wednesday with new numbers.The ZIP codes with the most confirmed and probable cases include:04240 (Lewiston): 23704103 (Portland): 20204101 (Portland): 18104092 (Westbrook): 16504106 (South Portland): 11704102 (Portland): 11004105 (Falmouth): 10704074 (Scarborough): 9104210 (Auburn): 9004107 (Cape Elizabeth): 80Communities like Westbrook, Scarborough, Falmouth and Cape Elizabeth have seen large outbreaks at long-term care facilities.As of Wednesday, there are a total of 2,637 cases of the virus in the state, and 100 Mainers with the virus have died.
