Driver, 81 years old, died at the scene

One person is dead after a crash in Portland Thursday morning.Police said a 2005 Lincoln Town Car and 2015 Toyota RAV4 collided on Veranda Street near the I-295 South interchange at about 7:40 a.m.The driver of the Town Car, 81-year-old Nicholas Hamp of Cumberland Foreside, died.Police were investigating how the crash happened and asked for anyone who saw the crash to call them.
