A Maine state trooper stopped a driver going nearly 130 mph on the Maine Turnpike.State police said the trooper caught the vehicle going 127 mph on the turnpike in Wells Sunday night.Police said the driver was pulled over and cited.Officials have said they have seen an increase in speeding drivers since the outbreak of the coronavirus and fewer people on the roads.That includes an increase in tickets for criminal speeding, which is when a car is going more than 30 mph over the speed limit.There has also been more speeding through construction zones, which carries double the fine.Police remind drivers that they are still out there and will stop you for speeding.
