Man wanted for murder in Massachusetts arrested in Maine after 2-day search

A man wanted in connection with a murder in Massachusetts was arrested in western Maine after a two-day search.Police said the search for Derell D. Guy, 34, of Lynn, Massachusetts, began Monday morning when a car he was in was pulled over in Wilton.Guy got out of the car and ran off, officials said. Several police agencies searched the Wilton area on Monday but could not locate him.At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Maine State Police received credible information of a confirmed sighting of Guy behind a home in nearby Carthage.Several law enforcement agencies responded to the area, and after being tracked by a police K-9, Guy was arrested at about 1 p.m.He was located on Winter Hill Road in Carthage, approximately 6 miles from where he was initially stopped, officials said.Guy was taken into custody without incident. Police said he was not armed at the time of his arrest.Police said he had been staying in the area for about a month.Guy was transported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office where the U.S. Marshals Service will charge him with being a fugitive from justice, and Guy will await extradition to Massachusetts. Guy is on the Massachusetts State Police most wanted list for a January killing in Lynn.
