Parts of Maine to see a couple inches of snow Saturday morning

Parts of southern Maine will see a couple inches of mid-April snow to start the weekend.Snow from the Midwest will track toward Maine on Friday, and the snow will arrive early Saturday morning.The center of the low pressure will track across southern New England, which will push light snow into southern Maine. There will be a sharpcut off on who gets snow and who doesn’t.As of Friday morning, areas Portland and south will see some minor accumulating snow, with just a dusting for the Lewiston-Auburn area.The Portland area can expect to see aroud an inch of snow, and parts of southern York County, including Sanford will see 2 to 4 inches of snow.There could be some mixing at the coast and a full changeover to rain showers by early Saturday afternoon. However, by that point this storm will be racing toward the Canadian Maritimes as a much more powerful storm. That means less precipitation Saturday afternoon and windy conditions. Conditions will clear quickly late in the day Saturday. Sunday looks nice, with some sunshine and highs in the upper 50s.
