The Week Ahead: Cool Election Day Forecast and A Late Week Warm Up

Quite a weekend with a Halloween blue moon and the end of daylight saving time. If you didn’t catch a view of the full moon, check out this great shot of it taken at Camp Ellis in Saco on Saturday evening. MONDAY Sunday night light rain will come to an end early Monday as overnight temperatures stay above freezing. During the day the temperatures will cool from the 40s in the morning and midday down into the 30s for the afternoon and evening. Winds will be gusty Monday and that will help to dry out surfaces before the cold air moves in. Those west winds are also going to keep snow showers going in the mountains. A few flurries and snow showers may survive the trip into the foothills and lakes region during the day. Otherwise a mix of sun and clouds with a blustery feel. TUESDAY A quick round of light snow moves through early Tuesday morning for many. The mountains will pick up some light accumulations between Monday’s snow showers and the early Tuesday snowflakes. Elsewhere a trace of snow is likely before clearing to a breezy and brighter Election Day. If you’re heading to the polls Tuesday, be sure to bundle up as temperatures will stay in the 30s during the day. WEDNESDAYThe chilliest spot in the forecast is Wednesday morning with lows in the single digits and teens for a lot of towns. From here it is onward and upward, as a warming trend begins. A mix of sun and clouds. A little warmer with highs in the 40s to near 50 and the wind will be much lighter.THURSDAY INTO THE COMING WEEKENDWe have some 60s and sun to look forward Thursday and Friday. The warm up continues into the weekend with 60s sticking around.
