The Week Ahead: Freeze possible, minimal rain chances

The weekend brought pleasant weather with a feel of fall, but how about the week ahead? Here’s what to expect in this week’s Total Outlook.MONDAYAfter a stray overnight shower, and clouds Monday morning will give way to clearing skies and sunshine. It will be a tad warmer at the coast with highs pushing into the low to mid 70’s. There will be a breeze out of the northwest which will keep the mountains cooler in the 60’s. Monday night will feature a clear sky with calm conditions, and this will allow temperatures to really plummet down into the 30’s for many spots. Some of the coldest spots towards the mountains may dip below freezing, and because of this, a Freeze Watch is in effect for those areas. TUESDAYIt’s going to be a downright cold start Tuesday morning with lows in the 30’s for most of the area. Spots that drop into the mid 30’s could see a frost, and far northern zones may see a freeze. Take action to protect any gardens or sensitive plants. Tuesday itself will also be a cool day with highs only in the mid 60’s, but there will be plenty of sunshine. Tuesday night will still be chilly but not as cold with lows in the 40’s and mainly clear skies.WEDNESDAYWe will see some warmer temperatures towards the middle of the week with plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 70’s.Wednesday night won’t be as cool as lows only drop back into the 50’s along the coast with a few clouds.THURSDAYThe second half of the week features our next best chance for any showers. At this point, most of the day Thursday looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the mid to upper 70’s. By Thursday night, a front will bring showers to the area which may linger into early Friday for some spots. Temperatures will drop back into the 40’s and 50’s Thursday night ahead of a cooler day Friday.FRIDAY & THE WEEKEND There may be a shower on Friday, but timing of the rain is still uncertain along with rainfall amounts so stay tuned this week for updates. Friday does look like a cooler day overall with highs in the 60’s. The weekend looks even cooler with highs in the low 60’s and lows in the 30’s and 40’s, so fall-like weather continues to creep in. Get those sweaters ready!
