The Week Ahead: Milder nights, a few showers

We saw beneficial rain over the weekend and a first snowfall with several inches accumulating across the highest terrain. This week, we see some milder temperatures. Here’s what to expect in the Total Outlook.MONDAYIt will be a seasonable start to the week with highs on Monday in the upper 50’s to low 60’s with increasing clouds and light winds. There IS a chance for showers later in the day ahead of a slow-moving cold front, but the best opportunity for showers will be to the north and west across the mountains Monday evening. Any rain will be fairly light. Lows Monday night won’t be as cool, falling back into the 40’s under mainly cloudy skies. TUESDAYWith that cold front slowly approaching, we could see more showers again on Tuesday with unsettled conditions through the middle of the week. Showers will mainly be light again and most rain will occur north of I-95 with a better chance for a shower towards the coast late in the day as that front crosses the region. It will be milder on Tuesday as highs push into the low to mid 60’s across the area. Tuesday night will also be mild with lows in the 40’s near 50 degrees.WEDNESDAY Wednesday will feature highs in the 60’s for some spots and another opportunity for showers, this time as a warm front lifts through. Rainfall will still remain fairly light with drier conditions expected the rest of the week. Lows Wednesday night will be in the low 50’s. THURSDAY & FRIDAYThis should be a dry stretch as high pressure takes control to end the week. Overall, the mountains will pick up the most rainfall this week with coastal areas likely seeing less than a half inch of rain. Highs Thursday should stay mild in the 60’s with some cooler weather Friday under partly sunny skies.THE WEEKENDAt this point, the weekend looks mainly dry but some models are hinting at a chance for rain. With a lot of uncertainty still, this is something we’ll track as we get closer through the week. It does look cooler Sunday and into Monday of next week. Stay tuned this week for updates.
