Wildlife, in some of the world’s most human-populated places, is taking advantage of the empty streets by running… wild. As towns and cities across the planet remain on lockdown during the coronavirus outbreak, animals are making the most of life without the crowds by roaming freely in the likes of Paris and Dubai. We first saw this in the UK, when a herd of mountain goats descended on the Welsh seaside town of Llandudno and, since then, there has been deer appearing in London streets too. Elsewhere, Parisian residents out shopping for their essentials have watched as adorable ducks cross the usually busy streets. Venice, which is used to motorboat traffic bringing in hordes of tourists, now has clear waters – and seabirds can enjoy leisurely swims. Meanwhile, rabbits have taken to the streets in the city of Christchurch in New Zealand and elegant peacocks have been spotted seemingly browsing the shop windows. Take a look at the photos of wildlife reclaiming deserted streets in towns and cities around the world.
